From full outsourced CIO oversight to a single project engagement, every service is built on the same foundation: deep insurance asset allocation expertise and a disciplined, data-driven manager evaluation process.
We act as your Chief Investment Officer in a non-discretionary, fiduciary capacity — an employee-owned advisory not affiliated with any firm that manages money for our clients. Our consulting service involves assuming primary oversight responsibility of virtually all aspects of an insurer’s investment program while working closely with clients as an extension of their executive management.
Fee basis: Portfolio market-value based.
For insurers who already have an optimized program and simply need to add or replace a manager. CapVisor utilizes one of the largest investment manager performance databases in the industry — 2,300+ managers and 20,000+ strategies — and focuses exclusively on top-quartile performers, identified through a 13-statistic, Modern Portfolio Theory (MPT) risk-adjusted scoring process (alpha, information ratio, capture ratios, Sharpe, Sortino, Treynor, drawdown, and more) following CFA Institute best-practice guidelines.
No fee from CapVisor. Selection from our pre-vetted network of about 30 top-quartile insurance asset managers (standard manager fees apply). CapVisor remains involved with “lite” consulting on plan documentation and asset allocation, plus on-going quarterly risk-adjusted reporting.
One-time negotiated fee based on search complexity. Selection from the full database of 2,300+ managers, typically narrowing to 3–6 best-fit candidates after evaluating your specific requirements.
A suite of professionally constructed, multi-asset model portfolios for companies seeking institutional-quality allocation without the complexity of a fully customized engagement. Each portfolio represents a defined allocation strategy, implemented through CapVisor’s network of top-quartile performing specialized subadvisors and managers.
Well suited for clients seeking a turnkey, professionally managed allocation; products with smaller or standardized mandates; situations requiring speed and simplicity; or intermediaries looking for a repeatable solution for their clients.
Best for clients seeking customized programs using ERM/ALM techniques, asset allocation optimized around a specific liability structure, or a manager-of-managers with full program oversight. CapVisor will not place consulting clients within the Steward Model Portfolio Series — the two services are kept separate to avoid any conflict of interest.
Targeted, pre-approved-fee engagements designed to meet a specific investment goal:
